NEUROMODULATOR INJECTION
Neuromodulator injections, also known as neurotoxins, are a cosmetic option that uses botulinum toxin to temporarily relax muscles and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
The neuromodulator is injected into the underlying muscle, causing it to relax and gradually smooth out the skin.
Neuromodulators are used to treat:
- Forehead Lines (Frontalis)
- Crow’s feet
- Furrows in-between the eyebrows (Glabella)
- Nasal Lines (Bunny Lines)
- Frown Lines (DAOs)
- Lip Flip
- Chin Dimpling (Mentalis)
- TMJ Pain
- Neck Lines (Platysmal Bands)
- Trapezius Muscles
The injections are performed in about 10 minutes and last an average of 3-4 months. The effect of the injections is seen within 2-5 days, but may take up to 2 weeks to see the full effect.
Side effects are minimal and temporary, and most commonly involve bruising at the injection site.
Most commonly treated areas include:
- Frontalis
- Crow’s Feet
- Glabella
- Lip Flip
- DAOs
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected under the skin to make skin look fuller or smoother. They are used to reduce signs of aging, address fine lines and deep wrinkles, and minimize skin depressions and scars.
Dermal fillers can be used to enhance facial features, gain a more youthful appearance, and restore volume in your face. Dermal fillers are not permanent, and results may vary depending on the type of filler and where it’s injected.
They usually last between 10 to 24 months. Most side effects associated with dermal fillers are temporary and occur shortly after injection, and include swelling, bruising, and redness. In some cases, side effects may emerge weeks to months later.
Dermal fillers may not be appropriate for individuals with certain medical conditions and are contraindicated in conjunction with specific medications, allergies, or sensitivities.
The FDA regulates dermal fillers as medical devices and has approved them for use in adults 22 years of age or older for specific uses. There are many types of dermal fillers, including:
- Hyaluronic acid: A natural component of the skin’s connective tissue
- Calcium Hydroxyapatite: Treats deeper wrinkles and skin folds
- Poly-L-lactic acid: A biocompatible (meaning it is safe to use in the body), biodegradable synthetic substance
- Polymethyl-methacrylate microspheres (PMMA): PMMA has been used for many years in permanent surgical implants.

Micro Needling
Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses tiny needles to create tiny holes in the top layer of skin. The holes stimulate the skin’s healing process, which causes the production of collagen and elastin, proteins that help skin stay firm and smooth. Microneedling is also known as collagen induction therapy.
Microneedling is often used to treat:
- Acne Scars
- Enlarged pores
- Wrinkles
- Stretch marks
- Dark spots
- Sun damage
- Fine lines
Chemical Peel
A chemical peel, also known as chemical exfoliation or dermapeeling, is a skin-resurfacing procedure that removes the top layers of skin with a chemical solution. The peel causes the skin to peel, which leads to smoother skin that can improve fine lines, acne scars, and pigment.
Chemical peels can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions, including:
- Acne
- Melasma
- Wrinkles
- Actinic keratosis
- Photodamage
- Pigmentation disorders
- Scars
- Uneven skin tone
